My new vintage kitchen toy.
Edited on Sun Jul-04-10 09:58 AM by hippywife
I got this at the little second hand shop where I work for three dollars. It's complete with five cones and I used the shredded for hash browns this morning.

1. That's almost identical to the (somewhat) older Kitchenaid shredder attachments
I would bet those cutter cones would fit perfectly a Kitchenaid.

5. I wonder.
I don't have the shredder attachment to the KA, just the grain mill, so I can't test out that theory. Hmmmm.

P.S. Not sure if it's something you would be interested in or not, but I thought about you this morning when I saw this:

2. I think we had a thread about King Kutter items in the collectibles forum
Seems to me that one of the regulars over there knew quite a bit about King Kutter items. If I am recalling correctly.

4. Thanx, E.
I'll check it out. Mine differs only in that it has a red hard plastic handle. It's pretty cool and I'm glad it's still in excellent condition and works well.

3. You're going to use that thing until it falls apart
and they tend to last forever.

I have a Mouli, http://cgi.ebay.com/VINTAGE-MOULI-SALAD-MAKER-BRAND-NEW-BOX-NEVER-USED-/160449769423?cmd=ViewItem&pt=Small_Kitchen_Appliances_US&hash=item255b8d2fcf I'm so damn old I got it new and still have the box. I have to rebend things once in a while, but it makes things like grating mozzarella a total snap. It's been supplanted by the mandoline for things like coleslaw, but for potatoes, carrots, cheese, and other stuff that has to be grated in large quantity, it's fantastic.

I imagine the King Kutter is a good equivalent.
