Question regarding Mangoes |
|
I love Mangoes but can't tell when they are ripe. They all seem hard to me but I usually luck out selecting ripe ones. Do you go by color, feeling or what?
Thanks

because that's the only way to tell. When they start exuding that mango perfume, they're perfectly ripe, whether their skins are green, yellow or red.

3. It's like Warpy said. I'd also add that ... |
|
... they should not be mushy, but not "rock hard" either.
If you find you've chosen some that aren't ripe yet you can leave them out for a few days. They will ripen on the counter or in the fruit bowl.

that are more red and have a little give to the touch but not very much, kind of like picking out a ripe avocado.
