The Cooking Channel tagline is Stay Hungry. It's bugged me from the start. It sounds to me like if you are still hungry, you aren't getting what you want.
How does it sound to you?

2. I find it grating, too |
|
After all, that's the condition one is trying to alleviate, not perpetuate. Only a very bad cook would leave everybody hungry because their napkins and not their stomachs would be full.
I hope it goes away.

3. You would think they'd go with something like... |
|
"Satisfy your hunger!" But maybe they focus-grouped this one and it was the winner? Hard to imagine.

6. I think that would have been far more accurate! |
|
Maybe you should tell them. :)

5. It's like those Dos Equis commercials |
|
You know, with "the most interesting man in the world." He says "stay thirsty." In other words, don't drink anything. That seems like an odd tagline for a beverage commercial.

7. They obviously originated with the same admen |
|
and from the same focus group of half wits.
They're both grating.

8. I thought maybe they meant "stay hungry" for more.. |
|
..of their programming.
Doesn't it say something before "stay hungry"? I can't remember what.
Some of those tag lines are pretty dumb. Andrew Zimmern says something like "If it looks good, eat it."
And Bobby Flay used to say something like "Eat America. It's waiting for you."
Nothing has been as good as "Bon appetit."
