They delivered organic veggies today for $28.00 for 1-2 people. I received the most beautiful bunches of crispy fresh spinach, not flat leaf spinach but actual spinach I remember as a kid. I actually had to wash it over and over. Also received 2 vine ripe tomatoes, a huge head of leaf lettuce ( had to do the same type of cleaning - but crispy, collard greens, 8 potatoes, bag of organic carrots, 3 zucchini's, brocolli and couple of onions. They delivered the box to my door (I'm elderly and live on the second floor) so I thought that was a bonus for me. They had the veggies packed in a nice box, veggies were wrapped in plastic with an ice pak included. When the next order comes, I return the plastic, ice pack and box - they will either reuse the items or recycle it or use and composite. With the heat here and being older on the second floor I thought this was a great deal and everything is used again in some manner. All veggies are organic. They also give you the names of the farmers where they receive their veggies/fruit from and their links.
The veggies are fresh looking and organic. I am going to order again. Maybe next time I will also order their fruit box.
We have a place that will also deliver meats and my other shopping that will deliver is Safeway for a minimal fee. I am just not going to run around anymore to shop - this way I buy only what I need and plan around what I order.
I am going to try this to see if I save any money. I will save on gas and the wear and tear on my car for sure. Plus, the wear and tear on me going out in this heat.
What do you all think?
I also have a place that delivers fresh dried beans, salsa, spices to me also and other items. Their pinto beans - are soooooooo good. They taste so different from the dried beans you buy in the market. These dried beans are fresh and have not been processed.
I'm finding shopping on line is the way to go. It is not about not paying sales tax but so very convenient.
