Has anyone watched the Cooking Channel?
Not to be confused with Food Network, but probably related. It is what the Food Network used to be back when it was relevant and didn't have game shows and tours of potato chip plants.

Food porn and useful recipes.

1. I love the Cooking Channel, it's exactly what I hoped it would be
and I've actually tried a few ideas I've found there. It's also nice to be able to tune into Julia Child, The Galloping Gourmet, and Two Fat Ladies once in a while for a blast from the past.

Jamie Oliver's show is especially good, themes and variations on whatever he pulls out of the garden that day, in a small kitchen with few bottled sauces and no sous chefs off camera.

I'll watch the Next Food Star game show to its conclusion and hope Aarti ends up with a show on the Cooking Channel, where she belongs, whoever wins.

They do need to change that motto, though. It's annoying.

2. I enjoy the Cooking Channel
Yes, it IS a sister-channel to the Food Network, and some of what they broadcast is old Food Network shows. But there are also cooking shows from Canada, Britain and other places that's interesting. I always enjoy Foodography and Chefography, as well as the "At the Table" shorter version of Chefography. I love learning more about who the celebrity chefs are and where they came from. I, too, have grown tired of the plethra of competition shows on the Food Network - basically all the same show, just different competitors and a different product.

3. I can't get it her unless I want to pay more
and my budget says no.
