Weird Food Combos You Enjoy.
The comment I made on the calzone thread, and the responses, got me thinking... what are some weird food or flavor combinations you enjoy?

A couple of mine that comes to my mind. I just love a toasted onion bagel for breakfast, with peanut butter and concord grape jelly.

Cottage cheese with peaches, pears, and maraschino cherries, anyone?

3. The one that comes to mind first
is a PBJ sandwich dipped in tomato soup. The other is an everything bagel with melted hot pepper cheese on it and topped with either strawberry or apricot preserves.

Scrambled eggs with ketchup and hot sauce, with buttered toast.

Sausage or bacon on toast with grape jelly.

I also like a PBJ with bacon on it, too.

I could go on.

But then, I don't think these things are weird. :P

9. Harvard beets and spaghetti
So you get pink spaghetti.

Dried cranberries in lots of stuff, like egg salad or macaroni salad. Although raisins are good in those, too.

11. sharp cheddar, garlic salt, and raw onion
also cheese and dill pickles - even just the liquid from dill pickles

:wow:I just realized how close that is to something I turned my nose up at in Germany - hand cheese - a soft smelly white cheese serve in vinegar with onion and (was it cumin?)

18. Whoa! Obviously a PUI
Unless my account got hacked! I don't remember typing it.

As I think.. this may have been a leftover from trying to see the moon through the clouds during the once in a lifetime eclipse on the solstice. We celebrated with 2 types of brandy... storebought and homemade.

I evidently stopped by the computer on the way to bed. Oops.

21. That's not so weird.
To me, a cheese sandwich isn't a cheese sandwich unless it has onions in it. I'll have to try it with the garlic, only I'm going to go with powder. The cheese is usually salty enough for me.

16. it's been a long time, but I used to mix cottage cheese
and kidney beans when I was a poor student. Must have needed the protein.... Since then, I can't think of any odd food combos I like, not even when I was pregnant. I never craved anything odd at that time.

17. That might not be as odd as you think.
I've actually seen that combination on the salad bar at Whole Foods. Someone must like it, they keep making it and putting it out. It's probably a good protein combination for vegetarians.

19. I eat french toast w/ketchup or HP sauce. Never
in my life until just recently did I ever put syrup on french toast.

I also like grilled cheese sandwiches that are dipped in egg as opposed to buttered on the outside. Fried golden brown just like french toast with melted cheese inside. Yummy.

One of my favourite sandwiches is Peanut Butter w/ lettuce and Mayo.

hmmmm now I'm hungry :)

23. what's that, syrup on french toast
I couldn't believe that the first time I encountered it when I went away to school. We always had melted butter and sugar on french toast. After that I had to scoot up to the front of the line to give the lunch ladies advance warning (no maple syrup on mine, thanks) and then go back to my place in line every time to avoid disaster.

27. Weird combos
Vanilla ice cream on a saltine.

A tunafish sandwich with mustard. Grape Kool-Aid chaser.

This is not a combo...but I like my Cheetos(the puffy kind)stale. I open the bag and leave it open!

Peanut butter, lettuce and mayo sandwiches.

A1 sauce on a baked potato.

Grilled cheese dipped in ketchup.

My sister likes baked bean sandwiches, and ketchup sandwiches. My mom liked grape jelly and dill pickle sandwiches, and my dad put ketchup on his scrambled eggs. Gak!
