Alone in the Kitchen with an Eggplant |
|
I picked this book up from the library the other day and just sat down to read it. It's a collection of essays by various people about food and eating alone. It also contains some recipes. But mostly I am really enjoying the writing, some of it very funny.
Has anyone else ever read this? I thought I had seen it mentioned in the weekly What are you reading the week of... thread in the Fiction forum but now I can't find who posted it so I can thank them for mentioning it.
It's a very fun read so far and very quick. I thought folks here might enjoy it, too. :hi:

4. You are really gonna love this book. |
|
I read it in only two afternoons. Each essay was so entertaining that I thought the next would be boring in comparison, but it wasn't. There was only one I didn't really care for but only because the writing style made it somewhat burdensome to read.

I bought two other books from the library for a buck which I am going to dump off someplace for someone else to pick up.
Glad to hear you enjoyed it, too. :hi:

7. Mom picked her copy up at her library and gave it to me when she was done |
|
So I am willing to pass it along to whoever might next enjoy it. While it is a fun read, it is not the kind of book I am likely to want to re-read.
