I posted something on Scotch Eggs not too long ago, but those recipes called for baking it as the author intitially did in your article. Sounds like there's no way around frying them if you want the crispy outer shell...sigh.
I still haven't tried making them, have you? Has anyone?
I'd love to try them at a good restaurant first just so I have some sense of what they are supposed to taste like. But alas they haven't, to my knowledge, found their way here yet for some reason.
I first heard about them recently on a PBS show about local restaurants around the country.
I googled DU's search to see if others here have discussed this breakfast and indeed they have.
Sounds like they are served a lot in pubs throughout the country and would be delicious with a stout beer.
