Fresh Aigs!!
I FINALLY found an egg supplier :woohoo:

This nice couple at the end of the road who waves from their front porch every time we pass had a yard sale Saturday so we stopped in to see if they had any treasures (they did, I got 3 pairs of Dockers for my (skinnier) butt and a salad shooter) and hanging there was a sign that said "Eggs $1.50 a dozen!!!

She was sold out on Saturday but called me today and i picked up 18 fresh 'aigs' and put in a standing order for a dozen every Friday :bounce:

Dinner tonight was omelets with avocado and cheese

2. I got my first home-grown turkey egg last night.
Anxious to try it, although I don't suspect it will be much different from a chicken egg.

8. I have 7 egg suppliers in my backyard now!
Bought a box full of baby chicks at the hardware store last spring and now they are all grown up and laying! We have too many eggs this spring, so I supply my in-laws and the next door neighbor as well. :hi:

Mr. Ketchup is VERY allergic to feathers, he'd never go outside again if I had a coop here

but it's damned good to see you!!! how's that kitchen holding up, still loving it??

15. Kitchen is still great, except the appliances are not holding up.
Never buy a Kitchen Aid dishwasher. I already had to replace mine :( Too bad about the feather allergy, but at least you found a local source for natural eggs!

What breed lays the speckled eggs? I plan to get some blue/green egg layers at some point.

21. The lighter colored ones at the bottom right are turkey eggs.
Edited on Thu Mar-31-11 07:53 PM by Denninmi
The somewhat darker brown, speckled egg at the top of the photo is just an abnormal Isa Brown or Rhode Island Red chicken egg -- sometimes the works malfunction and the girls lay eggs with funny shells, either misshapen or spotted or whatever.

Specifically, the turkey eggs are from Royal Palm x Calico Sweetgrass crosses.
