canned collards and kielbasa. I like to stir a tablespoon of cider vinegar into mine at the table. Feeds four in style for less than $10, with cornbread for dipping.

1. That's one of my favorite meals... |
|
I find the canned collards to be hit or miss though. What brand do you use?

And you're right. they weren't that great. Kind of mushy. I use kale sometimes and it works fine.

I think it was the generic store brand and they were SO good. But since I can't remember which ones, I don't know what to buy except fresh. :)

2. That works for me with just about any kind of dried beans and greens. |

Around this part of the country, you can invite guests over for beans and cornbread and get enthusiastic responses. Potatoes fried with onion (best in a cast iron skillet with bacon grease) are another favorite accompaniment.
