Halloween 2011 comin' up next week
What are you planning/doing for Halloween this year?

Do you still have kids at home who just can't wait to get dressed up and get out the front door?

Do you have celebratory dinner? Or traditional party?

Do you decorate your house? Make treats? Buy treats to give out? Carve a pumpkin? Get dressed up in costume?

How will YOU be celebrating the day this year?

What does Halloween mean to you?

1. Used to be big here!...
Teens are not interested although if the day falls on the weekend, they have gone to parties. We used to have a big street party with food early on before the kids would get dressed up. We did spooky luminaries and had games and such. People still decorate their houses but not many of the adults dress up like they used to.

Now, the people with little ones do their own thing. We still sit outside with the neighbors for a couple of hours and we'll hand out candy but it's not the same. *sigh*

6. It does seem to be a "kid thing"
But some adults do like to dress up and party, too. I think you're right about Halloween being a "bigger" holiday and more celebration when it falls on a weekend.

2. I have a little jar of candy at the front desk in my clinic. That's it.
At home I won't decorate, and trick-or-treaters don't come to apartments. I'll saty in and have a glass of wine and read a scary novel.

3. Well, I could carve the vegetable orb, pass out beer and chicken embryos, and
perhaps indulge in some apple bobbing.

4. LOL! I forgot the kids used to bob for apples...
It always seemed gross to me but all the neighbor kids loved it. It's usually warm here for Halloween so apple bobbing was doable.
