A wonderful wine - Amarone

If anyone reads my posts, they know I've been on a Zinfandel kick of late. The variety is amazing and the range of flavors is such that each new bottle is an adventure.

But as a change of pace, we tried a bottle of this.




It isn't cheap ... about $30.

But soooooo smooth and refined. Fruity and bone dry with just a hint of tannin ... just enough to give it some nice interest. I could go on and one, but its thundering here right now and the lights are dimming. Maybe I'll more to this post when it clears up.

This wine would be great for any occasion ... from an anniversary to a birthday to new job ... to a great steak.

I spent a full week with this, with just one precious glass a night. It was wonderful.

Trader Joes carrys one for around 11.99 that is fabulous. They don't have it all the time but when I see it I stock up. Sorry, I don't recall the brand.
