You might have some fun going over there and checking out what they've gotten done so far. And be sure to check out the C&B. We have a friendly host over there who we all know and love (and who loves us too). :grouphug: Leave some posts over there because she needs some work to do there

Do you suppose, in the history of C$B, that there has EVER been the need to lock a post in C&B???

:hide:

(Can't help it. Really. I don't mean it.

The devil made me do it.... too much DU3 on Tuesday) :-(

1. Just did, at your suggestion.
Any way quicly to transit from 'old' DU to DU3?

2. If you're having trouble with the format
you can change it under account/options. The transit will be quick, the old DU will disappear over several days and DU3 will be left all by its lonesome, middle of the month, I think.

I'm liking a few of the changes, like being able to edit when you finally notice your typos two days later or being able to delete your own post when you've made a mug of yourself (a real advantage in my case).

I think we're all allowed to grumble. I know I grouched for about a week when they upgraded to DU2.

4. I like that, too
I'm not so sure I like the part about leaving your unedited-copy there for anyone to see, though. However much I must admit to often being curious as to what was edited from some posts.

And I LOVE self-delete! I can't tell you how many time's I've hit "post" and regretted it!

3. The biggest issue seems to be what forum to post in
since there's no longer a GD catch-all forum. But I think we'll all get used to it quickly once everybody understands the new set up, it does make sense. It will be fun to watch how everything shakes out over there.

5. Awwwww....You are so sweet.

I'm really liking DU3 so far.....but now everyone can see how much I edit. I'm always thinking of something to add, or notice a typo, right after I hit "post" lol

6. Me too
So often I click "Post" and then think of a better way of saying something or left something out or misspelled something. I'll be making goo use of that Edit function over there.

Glad to hear that you're having fun over there. I like it pretty well too, no real complaints. Haven't been asked to serve on a jury yet, inspite of having a high percentage of likely being asked, so that experience is still to come.

Do you know if they have an eta for going live with it?

7. Skinner said hopefully later this month
I'm ready for it. I really like it there. :)

I've had jury duty pop up a ton today, but I was there a lot. If you haven't peeked at Skinners video going over the process it is worth a look. It on the left side of the DU3 Home page. You don't need to see it because it walks you through it when you get the notice, but I found it useful.

8. Just be aware that all of those posts will go away
Use the place for fun and practice, but the database will be wiped clean when the beta testing period is over, so don't post anything over there that you hope to find in the next decade...
