I knew you'd know. I KNEW IT!
OK, so I was kidding about not sharing. If you were here, you know I'd be stuffing your sweet little mouths with chocolate and chocolate and chocolate and then maybe more chocolate.
My Chinese husband is already at it with the cleaver, but I want to try the screwdriver way, too. The next chunk is mine.
That site is gorgeous, but so is their chocolate. I already knew that chocolate didn't go in the fridge, but who knew that dark chocolate improved with age (much like OldLeftieLawyer.......)? I love that.
Thank you so much.
Anyway, I can't give you chocolate, and I regret that, but how about some ice cream?
No? Not good enough?
OK, then. Then might I offer you a bit of what we're having for dinner tonight?
PASTA WITH UNCOOKED TOMATOES AND MOZZARELLA
1 lb. ripe tomatoes
½ cup olive oil
¼ cup fresh basil leaves, coarsely chopped
¼ cup oil-cured black olives, pitted, cut into thin slivers
¼ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
salt and freshly grated black pepper
8 oz. mozzarella, in one piece
1 lb. pasta – linguine or shells
Peel and cube the tomatoes. Halve them lengthwise; seed. Cut tomatoes into ¼ inch strips. In a medium bowl, toss the tomatoes with oil. Add basil, olives, Parmesan, salt and pepper. Toss. Cover. Marinate, refrigerated, two hours or more. Just before serving, cut mozzarella into 3/8 inch cubes. Place in a large serving bowl.
Cook the pasta in a large pot of boiling salted water until al dente. Drain. Add to mozzarella, toss to lightly melt the cheese. Add marinated tomato mixture. Toss everything together. Serve immediately.
Mangia, darlings, and grazie .............
