I applied for aid today

food stamps, medicaid and emergency assistance. I don't know which direction I'm to go at this point. My parents are going to help, but those with money call the shots. If I don't have a stable situation by March 31 (when my lease is up), my parents are moving me to the west coast with them, which would mean leaving my daughter here alone in college.

Please pray that somehow, between now and the end of March, I get some glimpse of the path I should be taking. Right now, I'm too confused, humiliated and scared to see it.

I am so sorry that you're hurting. Please know that I care, and am here for you, should you need to talk.

Please do not feel humiliated over this. Confused and scared, I can understand. But you did nothing wrong, and certainly didn't bring this on yourself. I'm grateful that we still have some economic safety nets in place, and that someone like yourself can use it to hold you up until you're back on your feet again.
