My friend's young son (2) hated the new baby

She's been so down and unhappy at the way Armand reacted to their new daughter. He has not been aggressive to her, but in all other actions and words has expressed his complete disregard for her and was even pushing his parents away.. That baby rocked his world.

I told her about the way we showed graphically that there was no less love being passed around when a new baby arrived..

I'll pass it along in case any DUers are grappling with it too.

We lit 2 candles and showed our son the flames and told him that the flames were Mom & dad's love..and lit another one and showed him that that candle was HIS and "see the flame is just as big"..then we held his hand to light another candle for his little brother and he "got it".. The flames were all the same size no matter HOW many candles there were..

of course when he got mad at his brother later on, he would sometimes threaten to "blow out his candle".. Boys! :eyes:
