I need book suggestions for a child who has begun lying...
Someone I am very close to has a young daughter (6-7 year old range) who has recently begun lying with great ease. She is an otherwise wonderful child. They are doing everything they can to try to nip this problem in the bud before it becomes a way of life for her. Since she loves to read, I am hoping that perhaps I can get a few good age appropriate book recommendations here that illustrate how bad it is to lie. Any suggestions?

1. Here are a couple
A Day's Work, by Eve Bunting:

The Boy Who Cried Wolf

Just keep in mind that it's entirely normal to lie. It's a phase. They need to model being truthful and be transparent about why that's the best approach.

My son (9) is currently going through a phase where the first answer out of his mouth is a lie. "Did you floss and brush?" "Yes! Well, no..." It's annoying, but I know he'll move out of it eventually.

2. Thanks for the recommendations and reassurances...
They are mostly concerned because her 1/2-brother (who is an adult) is a compulsive liar who would rather lie that tell the truth it seems. I think that is why they are so concerned.

Thanks again.
