Can't get my printer to work

Samsung ML-2510 via USB cable. Xubuntu configuration on a 997 MHz PIII with 256M of RAM.

Installed with SpliX, a couple different ways.

The document prepares fine, then the printer progress dialog says "Stopped: job-stopped". Every. Damn. Time.

All previous advice has led to the same end point: "Stopped: job-stopped"

I really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really need my printer to work, and work well.

Suggestions?

1. Have you installed the drivers?

Samsung is nice enough to provide Linux drivers:

Install instructions there too.

If you have and are still getting the problem, can you go to a shell/console and post the output of the command:

cat /var/log/cups/error_log
