Amarok Shoutcast Script
I recently built a new system and have for the first time in a long time installed Linux with a blank slate, which is to say by not restoring my old /home directory.

I had forgotten how much customization I had done over the last couple years that kept getting carried over to each new iteration I used.

Anyway, one of the things that happened with this was that I installed the latest version of Amarok, which is my preferred music/podcast player.

Due to yet another ridiculous copyright/patent problem, as of version 2.2 (current is 2.3), Shoutcasts are no longer included by default. You can still add individual streams, but doing so would have been a pain in the butt.

Thankfully a kind soul at kde-apps.org put together an installable script that reintroduces the Shoutcast functionality of previous versions of Amarok. It's available here:

http://kde-apps.org/content/show.php/SHOUTcast+service?content=116823

Once installed, it shows up just as it always had and allows you to browse available online radio streams and add them to your playlist.
