Ubuntu 10.04 Networking Question....
I just installed Ubuntu 10.04 and I can't seem to get the networking going. I installed it as a dual-boot with Windoze XP. I have a wireless card but I can't even connect to the internet from an ethernet connection. When I do a "sudo lshw -C network" query, I see a network controller and an ethernet interface, neither have the CLAIMED, UNCLAIMED, ENABLED or DISABLED" msg. Also, no wireless networks. Anyone help?

1. First question that comes to mind is: were you connected to the web during the install?
IIRC, this has sometimes made a difference for some machines: back in 09, when I put Ubuntu on my AAO, it was necessary to have wired access to get the proper downloads for other stuff, including wireless

What did you do with the Network Manager?

Everything has recently worked pretty much out-of-the-box for me. I'm not an expert, but you might want to post machine and wireless card info.
