Ubuntu 11.04 beta 2 is out, two more weeks and the real thing will be released

1. I currently like ubuntu, but I think they're including gnome in 11 only as a result of a big outcry

and they seem to be planning a definitive switch to unity with 12

Personally, I dislike unity. Perhaps by then I'll learn enough about linux distros to customize ubuntu to something I really like, more resembling the archbang distro based on it -- otherwise, I probably won't be rushing to grab copies of forthcoming ubuntu distros

For now, 11 seems usable

2. I'm using ubuntu classic (no effects)

rather than unity as I think it sucks too but maybe in time I'll figure it out, not holding my breath on that though as this may be the last upgrade I do especially if they drop gnome in 12. I also have 10.10 on here and I really like it now that I upgraded to firefox 4, I'll just be happy when more addons become available for firefox 4 as a couple that I liked real well won't work as it is now.
