Isn't the firefox cache supposed to be persistent?
Whenever I shut down Firefox, or reboot my computer, my Firefox cache is wiped clean. I'm giving it a whole gigabyte in which to live. But the entire thing is evicted whenever I decide to start over.

Being relegated to dialup status because of micro-geography, I love the browser cache. It makes dialup much more livable. And sometimes I'll go weeks without rebooting, or even days without having to restart Firefox.

But sometimes situations happen, when the lights blink, or Firefox eats up ungodly amounts of ram, that the browser, or the entire system must be restarted.

And *poof* goes the cache. Even though it has an entire gigabyte to call home.

What am I doing wrong? I'm on Ubuntu, version some animal. (Actually, it's "Lucid Lynx.")

2. thank you so much!
I've been going through preferences with what I thought was a fine-toothed comb, but somehow I missed that.

One little click, and it works the way I want it too.

Thanks again! :hi:
