I deleted OO and loaded LibreOffice a few months back...no way I was not going to support the real open standards version of this productivity suite. I wonder, though, if Oracle will retain the rights to the Open Office name?

My big problem with the open source products (both versions), was their lack of a comparable e-mail/contact database like Outlook. If they had that component included and I could import my .pst database, I'd probably make the commitment to using this fulltime in my business.

2. Maybe, but I can see how this would be much different then the other components of their Office Suit

I assume the other apps are written from scratch, but I'm not sure why they wouldn't include a integrated e-mail client, maybe a version of Thunderbird?) to round out the package.
