Need help connecting thru wireless connection on windows XP Pro |
|
I just bought a new (used) HP Pavilion ZV5000 laptop off Ebay. It didn't come with any manuals, just the driver CDs. It's a P4 3 Ghz, OS is XP Pro - it's a really nice looking machine but right now I'm getting frustrated trying to connect to the internet. I have a netgear 802B wireless router (which works fine with my old laptop and xbox) and the new laptop has an Broadcom integrated wireless card(802B/G) inside it.
I've gone into connections on IE and configured it to connect through a LAN. I've also gone into the windows connection manager and it shows it is configfured to connect wirelessly. The connections icon in the system tray shows it is getting a strong signal but IE never gets online.
Any suggestions? Please. Thank you!

I upgraded the Netgear firmware and it seemed to fix the problem.
