That's what I've used for years, it's got all the best Firefox features (actually Mozilla had them first) like tabbed browsing, pop-up blocking, etc.

2. I may have been blaming Firefox when it was another

program eating up all of my RAM.

Too soon to tell. I cleaned out all of the offline
content and stopped from programs from starting
automatically.

3. Some themes

are not built for FireFox 1.0. You have to be sure of what you are using. All themes do not work. There is a small learning curve for FireFox after using the beginners internet browser IE but if a person just tries it without adding any themes until they are familiar with it they will find it's a browser that is far beyond IE. I use a theme called Noia 2.0 (Extreme) It's great.

4. I got the theme out of the browser.

I run an audio transcription program called Escribe and
when it holds a file for play it ghosts a second file almost
10 times the size (so a 2MB file gets 20MB).

I have four of them open now. I'm a dingbat.

Firefox is very clean and as others have suggested make sure your theme is compatible for the version you are using.

7. I noticed the "bolding", too

I can be listening to some audio like AAR on the web and have email and also Firefox open to DU. Then, if I open another audio software such as Thom Hartman and turn the sound down (because I like to go back and forth between radio programs) the text on the screen for all programs is Bold. Once I close one of the audio programs and refresh Firefox, all is back to normal. It doesn't happen in IE.

Oh - and if I only open the audio software for the Lionel show at night, all by itself that software causes this to happen. I don't even have to have a second audio open.

9. I have also noticed

that while surfing with Firefox and drinking beer I have way too many tabs open and I get confused. The thing that really bugs me is the problem I have with Spybot and Ad-Aware Every time I run them there is NO spyware and If there is nothing to delete what fun is that? And when I accidentally click on a web page that loads popup after popup like IE does, Firefox blocks them all and again what fun is that? And when I have music playing while using Firefox and breath in and out really fast for 30 seconds I get really dizzy. That's it I'm convinced I'm going back to IE.:crazy:

Being able to read text on the screen is sort of important.

sorry if it offended you. I see by your post you have at least 5 things open at once (Low Memory Possibly) and you are wondering why Firefox is doing this? In most computer help forums it is recommended that you give some details of your system. Such as what OS you are using,How much Memory your system has etc. Like this (Win98se, SoyoP4X400-8235, 2.7Ghz Celeron, 512 MB, 30 GB Hdd, Raedon 9200.) Every bit of information is helpful. How long did you use Opera? I've been using it for more than two years and don't know how I ever browsed the Internet without the ability to have many pages open at a time because my dialup connection is so slow. (24K :cry: )

I cannot live without the Mouse Gestures, the built-in Notes, and so many, many other features Firefox either doesn't have in the original download . . . or they got by copying Opera's innovation.

I have Opera installed on an old Pentium III 600 computer and often have four or five other programs open at the same time.

Opera works very well for me, and for the thousands of other happy Opera users at My Opera Forums.

16. Firefox no good on my home computer.

With a teenager also using the computer, we've had lots of problems
with spyware infiltrating our system, so I installed Firefox because
it's supposed to be less susceptible than IE. But whenever anyone
turned on the computer it was freezing for about 30 seconds. When
I uninstalled Firefox, no more freezing.

Meanwhile I've installed Spyblaster and Spybot as well as the Ad-
aware we already had, and the computer's relatively clean at the
moment.
