I need a free/cheap but good CD ripping program
Something that can rip in WMA format. (My player only does MP3 and WMA.)

I used to use MusicMatch, but that got to be a PITA.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

3. Can I suggest you stick with MP3?
I know the compression is better with WMA, but for the effort of having to go back and re-rip all of your music, your next music player may not be WMA compliant. My brother had to do exactly that.

5. If you're in Windows
You can already rip CD's to WMA format in Media Player. I do that for my work computer. Just be sure you are upgraded to the newest version of Windows Media Player (11) freely available from Microsoft.com in the downloads section.

If you are in Linux you have many more formats and programs available, all free.

6. Thanks for the suggestions, all.
I finally settled on Audiograbber with the LAME codec.

Doesn't do WMAs, but that's okay. I was having dropout problems with those files anyway.
