Reset a computer??????
Edited on Mon Jan-05-09 10:24 PM by Azimov
I have an old Windows 98 computer that I never use and a friend of mine wants it. I've decided to let him have it because I never use it and its just collecting dust and I'll probably never use it again. Thing is, I got a lot of personal information stored on it, is there a way to reset the entire computer where it gets rid of everything (except the programs it came with of course)?

1. Short of a full reformat
You will need to remove your personal files manually, however there are some free tools that can help.

CCleaner http://www.ccleaner.com/ will remove most of your private data.

Advanced System Care free edition http://www.iobit.com/advancedwindowscareper.html?Str=download will get rid of the rest. Go into options/privacy sweep and set it to delete everything.
