Need help with Linksys WRT160n v2 |
|
This paperweight I recently bought was easy to set up, but drops connections every 10 minutes. I saw a bunch reviews after the fact that complained about the same thing. One solution is to download third party firmware like DD-WRT, and apparently that fixes the problem. Unfortantely the v2 of the router has a different chip set that DD-WRT does not support. Does anyone know of alternatives?

1. Well, you are gonna have to do some looking, but... |

Perhaps "Tomato" does work on it. That said, I would call LinkSys and ask for a firmware fix or your money back.

2. Some routers are just junk. |

The Dlink I've been using was terrible with its factory firmware (even the latest), and while a 3rd party firmware did increase its reliability significantly, it still drops connections. I have been meaning to pick up something new for awhile.
