a power cord question
I have a year-old Dell 1525 Special Edition Computer. Due to what I consider a design flaw, the power cord started to fray about a half inch from the connection point. It eventually frayed so completely that it would no longer charge the battery. I purchased, from Dell, a replacement. It also runs the computer but will not charge the battery. The odd thing is the original (which I can't find at the moment) was 90 watt; however, the replacement is only 65 watt. Does anyone know what power cord I should buy? By the way, the battery diagnostic indicates the battery is in good shape--but with 0 available power.

1. Yes, this caused some inconvenience when Dell changed over.

Most of our old laptops here at work that used the 65 Watters are phased out, but the power supplies live on, so we will occasionally get someone who had an old adapter at home and was trying to use it with their new computer.

You want this model: DA90PS1-00, Dell P/N: MM545

On edit: Maybe Dell will let you swap?

3. Frankly I think I'd suggest getting one of those variable ones
Like Targus or Go or whatever brand, but they have a switch for whatever wattage you need, and have swappable tips for various devices.
