Avast and Super Anti-virus
I downloaded both of these programs on my computer and at first the avast worked, but then I think the Super Anti-virus dismantled it. The Super Anti-virus loads up when I start the computer so it has an advantage. Don't they do the same thing? If you had a choice, which of the two programs would you keep?

1. Avast is a legit AV software but I fine only vague reference to any Super AV software.

Do you have the correct name... the Super whatever doesn't pass the smell test.

Edit: you can only have 1 AV software on a computer at a time but more than 1 anti spyware.

3. There should be no problem then with Avast. Run(hover) you mouse over the Avast icon in the system
tray and you should see (avast! On access Scanner x providers total y running) this is the only visible action. Did you get and install the lic.

I'm not sure what the problem is or if there is a problem with Avast, can you be more specific? This is the key function for computer protection.

SuperAntiSpyware may be scanning at bootup, I would turn that off.

4. By the time you have this all figured out
you can be well on your way towards not having to worry with anti-anythings.
http://www.linuxmint.com/download.php

Go here and download linux mint 8 and put it on your computer and quit worrying with the anti-anythings. I did this about 3 months ago and I can't even spell micro$hitwad anymore and let me say this, I love my Linux machine. I promise it will be an easier task to learn linux than it will be to figure out and stay abreast of all the problems billie boys win-ders brings with it.

5. You are breaking the spirit of this forum by your persistent shilling for an Operating System. You
never provide any plan on how to save current data files or programs. Nor do you provide any migration plan. Member have legit problems and you never offer a fix for their problem just how you solved yours.

This forum has had a very cooperative spirit for solving difficult problems, please contribute to solutions and quit trying to start flame wars.

7. Amen brother!
I like Linux, but moving the entire population to Linux is not, nor ever will be, feasible. It just won't work.
