1. Hi: give us more info >>>
Does it freeze up shortly after starting?
Is it Laptop or desktop?
Does it do it with the same program (s) ?
How old is your computer?
Did it start freezing up AFTER you installed a certain program??
Do you know the size of Ram..Processor??

2. it freezes after it's on a while
I hear a whirring sound,like it's "working"
It's a PC...about 4 years old...and I had to get on my son for looking at porn.(I am afraid there may be something from the porn sites contributing to this)
I don't know ram/etc...wasn't a very expensive computer,so I'm sure it's the bare minimum.

4. I would just add
Run the Malwarebytes Update each and every time before running.

5. I would get a can of air and give it a good cleaning
Could just be the cpu heating up and the fans working harder to keep it cool. Even if this is not the case it is always a good idea to clean out the computer every once in a while. Just remember to unplug everything first.

6. Look at event viewer
and see if you see a pattern of messages between freezes and boots.

7. Right click on the Computer Icon and then pick "properties."
That'll tell you (and us) some good information like which service pack, the rating, processor, how much memory and if you are using a 32 bit or 64 bit operating system.

IOU, so I'll follow this down. :)

You can get to this menu by clicking the old "start" button which is now a windows logo button on the bottom left corner of your screen and right clicking on the word "computer."

I apologize if this is a simplistic sounding answer, but I have no way of knowing your level of "computereze."

:)
