I was able to slip on the Windows program and select the Malicious software removal tool for download and downloaded the Microsoft Essentials and saved them both. Ran the removal tool and no bad files. Then I ran Microsoft Essentials and it updated and ran a clean scan.
You people provide a good service. I will tell you the free MSE runs quieter and smoother than the CA Internet Security that I previously had. The web site checker seemed to bog things down sometimes. As for the security effectiveness of MSE, only time can provide the ability for me to report on that down the road.
Thanks for all who helped me yesterday.
