Microsoft Office Web Apps?
Anyone trying this?

I've got an ancient version of Word on this machine, and an even older one of Excel, so it looks intriguing. Thoughts?

1. I'd stick with your ancient versions
Tried office 2003 and 2007 and keep going back to my office 2000. Keep in mind that anything hosted in the 'cloud' is entirely dependent on your internet connection not dropping out. :)

2. True...
Are the files saved there, too? (Sorry, haven't read through it all carefully yet). So yes, that would be a problem if I couldn't access.

Then again, the "trial" version of Office that came installed on here forces me to go through all sorts of steps just to open my older versions (yes, copied from the old computer!)

It would be nice to just open Word or Excel, lol.

3. Can't find any info on that
All I can glean from a quick search is that you CAN save documents to a Microsoft server for sharing and collaboration with others. I can't see them hosting every document ever created.....then again lol.

Have a read of these and see if they put you off:

It seems like the usual, overly complicated, Microsoft fiasco.
