Sounds backwards, I know, but ever since I switched to hi speed about a week ago (yes, I was one of the last dial-up holdouts, because I am cheap and it was free). So now if itunes launches at all it takes several tries and a very long time after I clicked the icon-much longer than with dial-up.
Then once it does launch it won't read my ipod. It did once when the screen with the "restore" option came on, but ever since that screen has only come up twice, just as a brief flash.
The worst part is that since it wasn't reading the ipod I figured it was ok to disconnect and didn't even look at the ipod screen, which apparentely said not to disconnect, so now my ipod isn't working at all. I tried the reset hold trick with no luck-I sure hope I didn't break my ipod!
So I did google for solutions, and when I was in itunes tried their troubleshooting section. No luck after uninstalling and reinstalling, and I also tried going into the "services and applications" area on my computer, found the ipod and followed some other troubleshooting instructions involving unplugging the ipod, clicking stop, plugging it back in and clicking start. Still nothing. It's read by my computer but not itunes, which is not opening at all for me now after numerous tries.
If anyone knows how to help me that would be wonderful, I really want to use my ipod and don't need another excuse not to exercise!
