I just got a call from a guy in India;

claimed he was with a tech company and his records show I need help so he called to help.

I am not having any current problems that I know if.

Has anyone else received a call like this?

6. It's a phishing scam

he mangnanimously offers to take over your computer to fix the problem. If you agree and click on what he tells you to, he steals all the private information you have in the box.

Usually, they're from Microshaft, saying the automatic update flagged your computer as having a non existent virus or other problem.

It's fairly new. Tell him to go pound dal.

7. You can also tell him you have a geeky friend and he recently installed Ubuntu on your computer.

And then ask him if he know how to install Office 2010 on your Ubuntu and make it work right. :evilgrin:
