Help if you can. I can't send emails on my Outlook Express
becuase I am getting a message from "Systems Administrator" about "Unusual activity in my Hotmail account" except I don't have a hot mail account. Thus my Hotmail account has been "temporarily blocked." I have no way to reach anyone at Microsoft it seems and the automatic responses don't address my problem. Has anyone some advice to help me here?

1. You should call your internet service provider
I believe some of them at times use Hotmail as an outgoing server. Give them a call and see what they say.

2. I guess I should do that if I can reach the local guy. Otherwise
I end up talking to Bangla Desh or someplace with clueless people.

7. I've just had a look at the Q.west site
They seem to be heavily into some kind of skullduggery (er.. partnership) with Microsoft.

Have a look here: http://www.qwest.com/internethelp/msn.html#
and follow the Email set up links.

Here's a copy and paste of the email server settings. Now, I don't use Outlook Express, so I can't tell you exactly where to look for the account settings, but I'm sure you will find them if you dig around. What you should be particularly looking for is the Outgoing Server or SMTP settings. See if they match those pasted below.

* Logon Information
Username: Full email Address (include @q.com)
Password: Password (Case Sensitive)

* Incoming Server Information
mail.q.com
Port 110
No SSL

* Outgoing Server Information
smtp.q.com
Port 587
No SSL
Outgoing server requires authentication
Use same settings as incoming mail server

8. OK, I will just have to stick around th computer awhile and do this.
Qwest certainly did have the Microsoft number right away (but did not give it to us). We are not getting blocked messages anymore. We got to them and they send they would send us a new code but they never did so now we are getting Enter Network Password but the temporary password we got didn't seem to work or doesn't work now. This is all very mystifying and bothersome.

9. Going to that site helped me reset the password so it seems
to be working now. Keep my fingers crossed. Thanks for the link! It also helps to know how intertwined Qwest and Microsoft are.
