...is going on. I'm getting rapid flickers on my monitor occasionally (as if my data are being downloaded elsewhere). This has never happened before.
Does this indicate I'm being hacked? What can I do about it?
I'd appreciate any help I can get from the 'geek squad' here.

1. Need a little more explanation... |

Did you just add a proxy server address to your browser settings, or did you install software from the proxy provider?
Are you sure you mean a proxy and not just meant to say you changed your DNS servers to something like OpenDNS or Google DNS?
Did you make any modifications to your "hosts" file as well?

I just used the proxy link that popped up when I googled proxy server when i could not get on DU. Then I read a thread that said that was a bad idea. Today, I just got a message my hotmail account was shut down and I had to make a new password. Any ideas?
