I'm in the process of getting rid of my desktop computer that ran Windows XP. I moved important files over to a flash drive. My brother really needed a new monitor, so I gave him mine. I'd like to get rid of the tower, but I would really like to make sure there are no more important personal files left behind on the desktop.

I don't want to just wipe it clean, as I have no operating file disks.

Using the laptop, is there a way to access the C drive of the desktop using PureSync? :( I don't know what else to do.

If you need to use the laptop monitor because the PC monitor isn't working, you will need to create a wireless network. 3. You'll probably need a monitor temporarily connected to the box to set up your screen sharing

It seems like a hassle setup for a last double check. If it's just a one time double-check, I'd probably re-connect my monitor to the old box, boot it, and double-check. Or I'd use a kvm switch so the monitor and keyboard can be used for both my machines at once

If for some reason the OS is borked, I'd probably re-connect my monitor to the old box and boot an ubuntu livecd to get access to the remaining files

After I was sure I had the last files off, I'd probably do somerthing like put a lightweight linux distro on the old box: maybe crunchbang
