How many MB in GB? I want to buy a thumb drive. I know GB are bigger
than MB but I know what the ratio is. Therefore, I don't know what to buy.

Help!

2. Actually a gigabyte is 1024 mb


Although some companies cheat and use the example you sited.

3. I got a 1 GB Corsair Voyager thumbdrive from Newegg
Even though they say it's 1 GB, it's actually slightly less, like 960MB from some reason.

4. It is the overhead of being formatted.
The same idea as hard drives having less capacity than advertised.
