TULSA, Okla. (AP) -- Tulsa police are warning residents to be wary of a computer virus disguised as news from the July seventh bombings in London. The Tulsa Police Department Cybercrimes Unit is warning of a "Trojan horse" virus that began appearing in e-mails less than a day after the terrorist attack in London.

The code attempts to connect to available servers as a means of sending spam. Police say it arrives in e-mail with the subject line "TERROR HITS LONDON.".


The virus is designed to resemble a CNN newsletter and the e-mail asks the recipient to open "attachments of unique amateur videoshots."

When executed, the attachment copies itself to the user's system then attempts to obtain a list of e-mail servers the machine has access to and starts to use them to send spam.
