Want to buy PC in Mesa, Arizona - Any *blue* suggestions?
Edited on Sun Jul-31-05 03:06 AM by Angry Girl
I'm not looking for a fully loaded anything, maybe just a P4, 1.5GHz, 512 MB RAM, 40 gig, with a 17" monitor, 56kb modem, sound card, decent video card (doesn't have to be flat, cheaper is better), for a total of maybe $250.

If that's unreasonable, lemme know what needs to be changed.

Doesn't have to be new. I just want to run XP on it -- with MS Office, FrontPage, and Photoshop (no complex graphics) -- and web-browse is all.

Either way, I'd like to avoid spending money with Dell, who donated heavily to the Bush-Cheney campaign....

Thanks!

1. Try Gateway or Apple

Edited to correct link

Apple

Rating: Dark Blue - 99 %
BuyBlue.org's Position:

Apple currently has a 99% BuyBlue rating due to political contributions for the 2003-2004 election cycle. Apple's current rating is based on contributions from their CEO, Steve Jobs, and his wife Laurene Powell Jobs which were almost solely Democratic. Apple does not have a political action commitee.

Gateway

BuyBlue.org's Rating:

Rating: Dark Blue - 84 %
BuyBlue.org's Position:

Gateway currently has a 84% BuyBlue rating due to political contributions for the 2003-2004 election cycle. Gateway's key executives contributed solidy and heavily Democratic in the past election cycle. Gateway also has a political action committee with a less than satisfactory donation record - $20,000 (28.00% Dem, 70.00% Rep)

Buy Blue alo has hardware and software listings.

2. Any mom 'n pop stores?
I like to support local business.

Otherwise, thanks, I'll look into Gateway. As much as I'd like a Power Mac, unless Apple drastically lowers the price, I'm going to have to wait a year on it.
