I am running two sun e450 systems, both have same graphics card. Both connect to my NCR monitor (which has an A/B switch built in). One runs solaris 8, the other solaris 10 (Gnome on both).
As I write this on my solaris 10 system I have been switching over to my 8 system (which I plan to upgrade soon). The problem?
The solaris 10 system is MUCH brighter then the 8 system on the monitor. seems as though the resolution and such are same/similar. But mozilla and everything else is much brighter on this (10) then the other. Any idea why?
I also run XP on this monitor (via a KVM switch) which is bright as well, and my other servers seem to share this trait. It just seems sol 8 running gnome is many shades darker. Maybe I am an idiot, but I cannot see any major reason why.
Anyone else run into situations where you have several systems (8 in this case) and one seems much darker then the other?
I am guessing it is some issue with resolution somewhere in gnome on 8, but have not found it yet. Any help is appreciated. Not the end of the world, just hate not knowing why :)
