One final dumb question before my reformat...

In another post I mentioned I bought an external hard drive in order to move all my files and music/vids etc over to. That has been done.
Now when I reformat, should I remove the drive from my system, reformat, install OS and then reconnect external drive in order to get at tunes and progrmas etc.?

1. It shouldn't matter ...

I'm a paranoid sort, so when I do drastic things like this, I remove as many potential avenues for problems as possible. So, I personally would remove it.

But it really shouldn't matter.

I think I will go ahead an unhook the drive, my camera & printer. My thinking is the less connected mean less to confuse matters. I am running XP, so once I connect everything back up, it shold recognize it, and I also have software and drivers for them as well.

That would be my thinking as well.

Anything can be added later. When I do installs, I usually just have the basic system together and then deal with things like printers and other external peripherals.
