Has anyone heard of HHOE
I am asking this question for someone else (who uses me as his Tech Support)

He kept getting these messages about HHOE and decided to install it...His system went kabloooiee!

Thankfully he was able to do a system restore in WinXP.

He tried to delete the entire file, but it will not delete.

He was not running any spyware programs, and has McAfee Anti Virus. No Firewall...other than the hardware firewall in his router. I recommended he get ZoneAlarm.

I gave him a disc with the installers for Spybot, Spyware Blaster, Adaware and Firefox (He runs IE or one of the IE clones as his browser).

He is up and running, but I was wondering what HHOE is.

1. No answer but a cute story that relates...
If you google HHOE, you'll find mostly foreign references, no?

Anyway, I'm reminded of a client whose neighbor used to cobble together cheap PC's for my client's business as kind of his hobby. He could use parts from PC found at garage sales, etc. He didn't charge for his time, either.

I hated his PC making neighbor, because he "trained" my client into thinking that one should pay no more than $150 for a PC including Windows, etc.

So, one day the client calls me with a similar question as yours. I couldn't help over the phone.

On my next visit, I checked out the PC in question. It turned out he was using a HUNGARIAN version of Windows! Everything on the surface was english, but all of the Windows system dialogs were hungarian!
