MS wireless mouse problem
Just came home with a new toy..wireless keyboard and mouse. The keyboard's okay but the mouse is dead.
Aside from an errant cat, what should I look for to be the problem?

Thanks in advance.

1. Check the underside of the mouse
some of them have a button you have to activate.

2. I've done that.
On the mouse and on the receiver. Changed the batteries too. I think I have to remove the program for
my wired mouse - but I can't find it. I'm new to XP and kinda miss the easy old 98SE. Thanks for giving me a shot, tho'. :hi:

3. You Can Make XP Look And...
feel like 98SE and retain it's superior feature-set. Here's how.

1) Right-click on your taskbar and select "Properties"
2) Select the "Start Menu" tab then tick the "Classic Start menu" radio check.
3) Click "Ok"
4) Right-click on your desktop and select "Properties"
5) In the "Theme" drop-down, select "Windows Classic"
6) Click "OK"

I despise the "Luna" GUI.

5. Remove your old mouse as a device
Go to My Computer, right click, then click on Properties - Hardware - Device Manager.

Whatever you have hooked up should show in Device Manager. Remove all items under Mouse and reboot with your new mouse plugged into the computer. XP should find it and install it.

6. This Jersey born klutz
(Englewood) sez "Thank you". :hi:

I'm going to try to resolve that and a couple of other issues this afternoon when I have some 'fiddling' time.
