Will a dvd burner burn music and photos also

I want to upgrade my burner, I'm thinking about installing a hp dvd burner, I'm wondering if I replace my current burner if I would still be able to burn images and music?

1. Yes.

You shouldn't have any problems at all.
XP has built-in cd-burning software and WM 10 has built in ripping/burning capabilities for making MP3s.
And there are at least 2 major brand name versions that burn DVDs too.

And you can fit so much more data on a DVD. (4-8Gigs?)
