Anyone here familiar with MS Access?
I have a database, I created from scratch for my choral library. It worked well while I was adding records, but now I want to add a search function.

Anyone conversant in Access?

What I really want is a blank version of the form I've got... which I can use to search any of the fields.

I can send the db for someone to look over if I need to.

1. Depending upon the version, there may be a wizard...
..to make such a search form for you.

I'm very used to Access up to Office 2000, and I never saw the point of paying to go beyond that, so if you're using Office 2003, I won't be able to help much beyond that...

The key is the query behind a given form would have to accept parameters of form fields on your form.

Again, I'm pretty sure one of those wizards would walk you through creating your own...

2. I've looked endlessly, and have not been able to find anything
The school has a license to Office XP, so that's what I'm using.

3. ...nothing like this shows up? (from MS Website)
To get started you can use the Form Wizard. To use the Form Wizard, open the database on which you want to build a form, and then:

1. On the Insert menu, click Form.
2. In the New Form dialog box, select Form Wizard, and then click OK.
3. Follow the directions in the wizard dialog boxes.

CHOOSE "Create form by using Wizard".

It IS possible they installed withOUT the Wizards...

4. Oh sure. I used the form wizard to create my original form.
I'll check there again tomorrow and see if I can make a search form.
