update on Murphy, the 16-yr old ACD dropped at the pound before Xmas

Members of an online cattle dog list worked feverishly and Murphy arrived at a new home on Christmas eve. The news article in the Bowling Green paper details what happened. Great story and Murphy is doing great in her new home.

2. Sorry about that

I used the archive search engine on the newspaper's website and apparently the link expires. To make a long story short, the ACD-L cattle dog list posted about her a few days before Christmas. People from several different states came together to pull her from the shelter and she arrived at her new home on Christmas Eve.

It's a great story. Murphy probably only has a year or two left but the people who saw her story couldn't bear for her to end her life in a shelter. She now has a home with people who will love her and care for her for the rest of her life.

BTW, my wife may be pulling an ACD from our local kill shelter today. We can't keep her (we have five dogs of our own- two of which are cattle dogs- and a foster puppy right now) but if we can pull her the people from the ACD rescue association will foster her until a home can be found.
