Crazy cat terrorizes Connecticut town (Seattle P-I)
And I thought Andrew was rowdy...

Residents of the neighborhood of Sunset Circle say they have been terrorized by a crazy cat named Lewis. Lewis for his part has been uniquely cited, personally issued a restraining order by the town's animal control officer.

"He looks like Felix the Cat and has six toes on each foot, each with a long claw," Janet Kettman, a neighbor said Monday. "They are formidable weapons."

The neighbors said those weapons, along with catlike stealth, have allowed Lewis to attack at least a half dozen people and ambush the Avon lady as she was getting out of her car.

(The Avon lady??? I guess when they say "no solicitors," they mean no solicitors! ;-) )

1. I see noone had ventured forth to photograph the criminal
I mean, can't we get a gutsy photographer back from Iraq to give us a photo or something?

3. They arrested the owner because she won't keep him inside --
"Solveira also arrested the cat's owner, Ruth Cisero, charging her with failing to comply with the restraining order and reckless endangerment."

I wonder if he is part serval? He might do a lot better if the owner built a big outdoor enclosure for him. If he is getting in this much trouble he has high energy and needs the stimulation of 'hunting' -- in the enclosure he could run around and watch all of the excitement without causing any problems.

:kick:

5. I saw it on the news yesterday. He's a pretty cat.
The woman is upset about having to keep the cat indoors because he loves to be outside.

cat.
The owner has been warned to keep him inside.
She should build an enclosure for him in her backyard, for his own safety, as well as that of the people in the neighborhood.

9. They don't say how long this has been going on. If it's all
happened over the past two weeks, guess what??? He needs to be quarantined and if he dies he needs to be tested for rabies. Severe aggression is the most common symptom of rabies in the cat.

But then again he could just be NASTY. I have known a few like him.

10. I think it has been going
on for about a year. KO did a segment on it and sounded like it had been quite a while. The animal control lady on the show said she thought he was territorial.
My stepdaughter had a vicious cat, would attack out of the blue but never her. Took a while but the cat hated any one to get with in three feet of her. Fortunately she never allowed him outside and learned to lock him in the bedroom when company was over. With her he was the sweetest cat you could ask for. Her vet did put a big red warning label on every page of his file though.
