Early every morning my cat Abbie "accidentaly" loses a toy

under my bedroom door. The cats are aren't allowed in my room at night because they make too much damn noise. Anyway at about 5 am every morning I start hearing scratching and banging on my door. Then I will hear his nails on the bottom of the door where he has stuck his paw underneath and dragged his claws on the underside as he pulls it back out. I know he is doing this on purpose. This cat believes that all attention, even me yelling at him, is good attention. Sometimes he uses my door as a backboard and starts playing handball.

So last night I picked up everything that he could slip under: his favorite nail file, his mouse, a piece of cardboard he had been playing with. That didn't stop him. He actually dug a something out of the kitchen trash to use. He is too damn smart.

Until he has you properly trained to respond to his every whim he will continue to try and coax you to play in the morning.

3. Actually he just wants me to feed him.

This cat always thinks he is starving. He is huge (not fat) for his age so I give him a little more than recommended since he is growing so fast and big and is so damn active. He never thinks it is enough.

4. Every morning we try to sleep late, our dogs have to shake their heads

so that their ears flapping back and forth wake us up. If that doesn't work, the taller ones come plant their heads on the mattress. Or the biggest one, who has a tail like a rope, wags it against the wall or door to make a racket.

They're waiting to eat and they know exactly what they're doing!
